Condemnation of Ahlul Bayt (a.s) World Assembly on Banning Hijab in Tajikistan

Ahlul Bayt (a.s) World Assembly advises the governing board of Tajikistan to desist from these sorts of anti-religion actions that shall invite the wrath of Almighty God as well as the rage of the Muslim and noble people of this country. They should respect the will of the people and restore the legitimate rights of the Muslim nation of Tajikistan and thereby compensate for their blunders before it is too late.

Condemnation of Ahlul Bayt (a.s) World Assembly on Banning Hijab in Tajikistan

In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

We extend our greetings of ‘Salam’ and salutations to Muslims of the world for the beginning of the tide of Islamic Awakening and worldwide movement against dictatorships, authoritarian regimes and regimes sponsored by colonialism of the West and the usurper Israel that have brought happiness to friends and despair to enemies.

In particular, our salutations to the Muslim and co-Farsi speaking people of the brotherly and friendly Republic of Tajikistan – a country whose population comprises mainly of devout Muslims and firm adherents of the Ahl-ul-Bait (Household of the Prophet). It is a Muslim nation that is at present reluctantly confronted with the repression and crackdown of the ignorant and despotic ruling faction.

It is rather surprising that in circumstances when the agitations and tide of Islamic Awakening has engulfed North Africa and the Arab Middle East; and in order to petition their rightful claims Muslim nations are deposing from power the region’s western-affiliated dictatorships one after the other; and Divine Will and the demand of the Muslim nations is being realized, unfortunately, in the heart of Islamic states and in the cultured and Muslim state of Tajikistan, the ignorant rulers of the country have in the course of the past one year in particular, have resorted to combating the sacred traditions and even the essentials of the manifest religion of Islam in this state. In this connection, they have created innumerable problems and placed numerous limitations on the Muslim people of this state such as combating the ‘Hijab’ Islamic dress code of women, prohibiting men from growing their beard; forbidding entry of children and youth below eighteen years of age to mosques; prohibiting religious education and teaching the Holy Quran in the country’s schools and forbidding holding congregational prayers etc….

One must not forget the point that the time is past when in order to appease the colonial powers regimes would cause general discontent to spread in a Muslim nation. This is because the trend of changes and transformations taking place in this century has rendered this point of view null and void while the tide of Islamic Awakening has condemned it to failure.

For this reason, the Ahl al-Bayt (‘a) World Assembly advises the governing board of this country to desist from these sorts of anti-religion actions that shall invite the wrath of Almighty God as well as the rage of the Muslim and noble people of this country. They should respect the will of the people and restore the legitimate rights of the Muslim nation of Tajikistan and thereby compensate for their blunders before it is too late.

“And those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they shall be overturned.” (Surah Ash-Shu’ara, verse 227)

The Ahl al-Bayt (‘a) World Assembly
