(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Imam Ali (AS) symbolizes justice in the world and this has been acknowledged by many Christian scholars, too, director of Hamburg Islamic Center said in his Friday prayer sermon.

Ayatollah Reza Ramezani added that Imam Ali (AS) attached great importance to justice and fair judgment , especially during the few years of his rule, izhamburg website reported.

He stressed that Islam is a religion of justice, mercy, security, wisdom and spirituality, adding that if justice is realized oppressors will have no place in society.

Elsewhere in his sermon, Ayatollah Ramezani criticized inaccurate claims attributed to Islam that have nothing to do with the religion.

“There are some who attribute violence to Islam whereas Islam is a religion of mercy and compassion and one that is against violence and terror in society.”

He also underlined that great Muslim scholars, both Shia and Sunni, are opposed to the violent moves that sometimes take place in the name of Islam. “Based on the teachings of Islam, we also strongly condemn any insult to the sanctities of any religion.”
