Grand Ayatollah Sobhani likens Najafi to Salman Rushdie
(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, Iranian senior jurisprudent in a  statement denounced heinous act of an Iranian singer to desecrate Imam Hadi (AS), the tenth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Top cleric in this message, slammed sacrilegious song by Shahin Najafi, Iranian singer living in Germany saying, “Of course this is not a project by an individual, but a pre-planned measure to undermine the religious beliefs of the people and to create a kind of ignorance in society.”

He called the act to be in line with what Salman Rushdie did previously and said the outcome for both of them is the same.

A young Iranian singer in Germany has recently performed a song desecrating Imam Hadi (AS), tenth Shia Imam raising the anger of Muslim communities across the world.

A number of Iranian Shia jurisprudents have announced him to be heretic, a statement for which the punishment is execution.

Previously the same statement has been issued for Salman Rushdie, Indian author of Satanic Verses, the book which desecrated Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
