(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Protesters gathered in the southern suburbs of the capital, Beirut. They closed down several roads and burned tires and garbage cans.

At least 13 men were abducted in Aleppo on Tuesday while they were returning to Lebanon from a pilgrimage in Iran.

The abductees, who were travelling by land, were still on the Syrian-Turkish border when they were kidnapped. The armed gangs allegedly hijacked their bus, then kidnapped the men and released the women.

There is no more information about the location of the abductees.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah condemned the abduction, saying the Lebanese government should be accountable.

Crisis-hit Syria has been the scene of killings, explosions, and abductions over the past year.

Foreign-backed armed groups carry out terrorist operations in the country since the unrest began in March 2011.

The Syrian government says ''outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups'' are behind the unrest, adding that the violence is being orchestrated from abroad.
