(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to the Public Relations Department of Iran’s Navy, an American cargo ship was attacked by a group of pirates in the Sea of Oman but due to vigilance and timely reaction of Iranian naval forces the pirates fled the scene.

An Iranian naval ship was patrolling the area when it received an SOS from the American cargo ship, said the report.

Upon arrival of Iranian forces the pirates who had attacked the American ships aboard some speed boats had to flee the scene, it said.
