(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Saafi Golpaygani met with Hujjat-ol-Islam Seyyed Ahmad Mousavi, new Representative of the Supreme Leader in Hajj Affairs and stressed the importance of Hajj and enough attention in correct performance of the Islamic duty.

He referred to the importance of the Organization of Hajj and Pilgrimage and demanded to make the best of this opportunity.

Prominent religious figure replied a question if it is necessary to perform Hajj while Iranian pilgrims are badly treated in Saudi Arabia saying, “Our presence in Mecca and Medina (holy cities of Islam in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is an obligation because the advantages of that exceed the disadvantages.”

“I have frequently stressed that we will never boycott Hajj pilgrimage,” said the cleric and added, “Even if they forbid us from this trip, we will go there anyway.”

Ayatollah Golpaygani also warned against demolition of Islamic historical inheritances in Saudi Arabia and called that a more important issue than the issues between Shia and Sunni.

He called the demolition of Saudi Islamic spots as a great loss for Islam and said,” the issue would deprive all Muslims from a historical background.”
