(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to reports, Shia Muslims and mourners have staged a stiff protest against the burning of “alam” (flag). They staged a sit-in in front of local police station and demanded that the culprits be arrested forthwith otherwise they would not withdraw their protest.

The protestors ended their protest after Hasnain Mirza, the MPA who is son of speaker national assembly Fehmida Mirza and Zulfiqar Mirza, former home minister, mediated. Unfortunately, a case was registered against the unknown accused despite the fact that the culprits were known.

The villagers said that those violated the sanctity of flag by torching it, were not locals but outsiders who have connection with outlawed Taliban and banned Sipah-e-Sahaba.
