Punjab Government and in particular its law minister Rana Sanaullah are known for patronizing Malik Ishaq and his banned Sipah-e-Sahaba and banned LeJ.
Shia leaders and organisations have demanded immediate release of Shias, case of attack against Malik Ishaq and his accomplices and punishment to those police officials who tortured women in the houses.

The false case was registered against them for their participants in the attack against the killer of Shia Muslims 'Malik Ishaq' of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi at Jamia Masjid Siddique Akbar. When the notorious terrorist Malik Ishaq had arrived at Siddique-e-Akbar mosque, his accomplices attacked houses of Shia Muslims.
Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, reached Chiniot to help maintain law and order situation there.
He said that Punjab government seems to be running its election campaign through Malik Ishaq and that was why she was taking undue action against all those who are targeted by the terrorist group.
He expressed concern that law abiding citizens were booked on false charges and terrorists were allowed freedom to attack innocent citizens.
