(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Talking to the German Press Agency, dpa, SPD foreign policy spokesman, Rolf Muetzenich, stressed Merkel and the US had to make clear that any Israeli attack against Iran would have fatal and uncontrollable consequences for the whole Middle East region.

Merkel should clearly state that any preventive Israeli military assault is neither legitimized by international law nor is it politically rational, he added.

Muetzenich reiterated that to this day there is no evidence, neither by the UN nuclear watchdog nor by western intelligence agencies that Iran has an atomic bomb.

"Therefore, there is no imminent existing threat for Israel," he concluded.
