(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Dr. Souheil Ghannouchi advocates a project through which participants will launch an American renaissance movement inspired by a new, revitalized, and uniquely American expression of Islam.

After more than 20 years of extensive research and interaction with communities across America, Dr. Souheil Ghannouchi attempts to stir up some reflection and discussion about the history, crisis, and future role of Muslim Americans. His new book, Muslim American Renaissance Project, aims to facilitate positive change across American society through greater civic awareness, responsibility, engagement, and cooperation.

Stemming from the author’s firm conviction that both the nation and the community are experiencing a severe crisis, this book is prompted by his grave concern for the future – as well as his unshakable resolve to significantly contribute towards the fundamental change that is needed right now within the society.

More than a book, Muslim American Renaissance Project is a manifesto that seeks to commit Muslim Americans to Islam as a life mission and to America as a homeland. This mission is centered on uplifting all people as well as on societal reform, and our goal is to inspire and empower people to effect positive change.

The book discusses manifestations of the Muslim Americans’ crisis, its history, and its root causes, including issues concerning identity, leadership, and a distorted Islamic construct. Finally, the book presents a vision and strategy for the needed transformation, based on solid ideological and intellectual foundations.
